NJ SIM Foundation selects Jersey Cares as the Primary Beneficiary of the 2017 CIO Technology Exchange and Golf Outing
The NJ SIM Foundation is pleased to announce our Primary Beneficiary of our 2017 Technology Exchange and Golf Outing will be Jersey Cares, the premier leader in volunteerism in New Jersey. Through their efforts they increase the level of meaningful volunteer engagement by creating and managing efficient, impactful projects and educational opportunities that address critical community-identified needs throughout the state. Jersey Cares was selected because much of their mission aligns well with NJ SIM Foundation focusing on assisting, educating and inspiring youth on information technology and STEM topics. We look to establish a partnership with Jersey Cares on IT Career Awareness outreach and bring STEM education to children in areas where they do not have access to it.
Through the grant the NJ SIM Foundation will be funding a Mobile STEM lab. This mobile lab will be dispatched to less resourced schools and introduce all aspects of science, technology, engineering and math to middle school students allowing them to engage in hands on design, coding and team development skills. This will be accomplished through tools: LEGO Mindstorm, LEGO WeDo 2.0 and 3Doodler technology. Additionally, a teleconferencing suite will be established at the headquarters location in Livingston, NJ to facilitate youth mentoring, training, interactive workshops and skills training. Please join us in congratulating Jersey Cares for their continued success in our state.
