This decade-long adventure led Eden to start Mobot\, a seed-stage company that addresses challenges in digital transformation\, enabling mobile engineering teams to innovate with greater efficiency. Unlike other software solutions\, Mobot’s unique approach leverages mechanical robots. Their 20-person team is backed by Y Combinator\, Newark Venture Partners\, among other venture firms. \nMobot’s blackbox testing approach covers the last mile of manual QA\, addressing scenarios and bugs that often slip through the cracks. This includes test cases like push notifications/deep linking\, multi-phone interactions\, Bluetooth connectivity\, camera testing\, iOS 14 widgets\, multi-factor authentication and more. Mobot’s testing service leverages supervised\, mechanical robots to execute mobile QA on physical devices: For more information\, visit teammobot.com. \nAgenda:\n5:00 – 5:30     Networking\n5:30 – 6:30     Presentation and Q&A[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_custom_heading text=”Cost” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left|color:%23005b94″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]FREE for all SIM New Jersey members. \nPlease register for the event below. \nWebinar information will be included in your registration confirmation and sent to all registered members shortly before the meeting date.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

NJ SIM is canceling out of an abundance of caution\, based on the news of the past two days\, including the cancelation of local events and the move to “work from home” for many local companies. In particular\, we’ve heard from many members that their companies have advised them to avoid group meetings in order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. \n  \nWe will immediately begin planning a series of online presentations and discussions in place of face-to-face meetings until the threat of coronavirus recedes. \n[/nectar_highlighted_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][nectar_gradient_text heading_tag=”h1″ color=”extra-color-gradient-2″ gradient_direction=”diagonal” text=”Manage Your Career for Success”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]Jim Knight\, the former Global CIO of Chubb Insurance company and 39 year IT veteran\, will be sharing his career story and what worked for him as he progressed through a very successful career.  He went from a junior programmer to Global CIO and then onto a thriving consulting and coaching business.  Jim’s last corporate job was with Chubb where he worked for 20 years with the last 9 years as the Global CIO.  Due to an acquisition Jim left Chubb in 2016 and decided to pursue one of his passions: helping people grow. \nIn that spirit and in addition to providing IT management consulting\, he has a thriving career/empowerment coaching business\, KnightInsights (www.jknightinsights.com) where he partners with clients to help them achieve career and/or personal goals.  His clients include many IT and other professionals\, Columbia University students\, Johnson & Johnson\, The Loews Corporation\, IBM and Workforce Opportunity Services to name a few.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”525″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

This presentation was inspired by the movie Moneyball\, where baseball leaders used data to transform the sport. But paper and complex legal agreements are cumbersome\, difficult to transfer and can be hard to track. One solution would be to switch to a digital system along the lines of Bitcoin but linked to an asset. The process of converting the rights to the asset into a digital token on a blockchain is called Tokenization. \nAt our October meeting\, James Canterbury of EY’s Advisory Practice will discuss his experiences with Blockchain Tokenization. He helps his clients understand new technologies and how they might be applied to solve real-world problems. Specifically for blockchain he works to educate clients on the new technology and designs solutions to capitalize on the benefits of a blockchain network when designing efficient\, transparent\, and trusted solutions. He has 14 years of experience helping biopharma companies find innovative answers to the challenges created by operating in a highly regulated industry. Before blockchain he primarily managed projects that span from interpreting FDA regulations to privacy & security to financial controls James holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
