From changing ESG regulations to political influence\, economic uncertainty to influential technologies\, the impact of the external landscape on tech talent is greater than ever before. IT leaders need to actively consider how the IT employee is attracted\, hired\, developed\, engaged\, managed\, and retained in new and unlikely ways. Not only will we consider what these new ways are\, but we will provide actionable steps for how IT leaders can get on the right side of each of these new talent trends. \nAbout Our Moderator:\nNicholas Kozlo (LinkedIn) \nNicholas Kozlo is a Research Director at Info-Tech Research Group. His areas of expertise include HR best practices\, employee engagement\, recruitment and retention\, and all things talent management. \nTo register for this higher-level exercise and discussion\, please email Eugene Jun at ejun@simnj.org. \nThe zoom link will be emailed to you with your confirmation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

We will discuss how proper Risk Management reduces cybersecurity costs while improving our security posture. \nMetrics That Matter is an organization that helps its clients effectively manage operations and cyber risk. It provides Risk Managers and Security Executives with the appropriate context and clarification on where to spend their security budget. They do this through identification and classification of pivotal assets\, resources\, and systems within the corporation. \nThe team at Metrics That Matters leverages a formulaic approach to compute inherent risk for Risk Managers and Security Executives. They do this by multiplying the respective impact and likelihood scores utilizing the “Power of Machine Learning” that evaluates the conceivable ramifications (be it financial\, operational\, or reputational) following a successful assault on each asset. \nMetrics That Matters has the ability to continuously recalibrate risk calculations by evaluating the residual risk post the assimilation of security controls grounded in industry benchmarks which include NIST\, MITRE ATT&CK\, and HIPAA. This is accomplished by mapping cyber products\, policies\, and processes to pertinent security controls. A tremendous “Value Add” that they offer is that their solution allows Risk Managers and Security Executives to model out current state and future state residual risk models based on increasing maturity of cyber solution effectiveness and adoption of new cyber risk solutions. \nThe discussion will be led by Larry Pfeifer\, President of Consortium Networks\, and Pat Dillon\, Vice President of Locton Companies.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Register for this complimentary midday event below.  (Alternatively\, you may email your reservation to Karen Kostulas.  Include your full name\, professional title\, and company email address in the message.)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Do you practice your incident response plan? These two questions have started showing up on insurance questionnaires recently and with good reason. Having a well thought out plan with enough detail to practice it in advance of an incident lowers the overall cost of an incident by minimizing operational impact and speeding recovery. In this round table discussion\, we’ll cover what differentiates an effective incident response plan from one made to put a check mark in a box. We’ll discuss how the NIST 800-61 can help you assess your current plan or create a new one. \nGideon Lenkey from RA Security Systems will lead an Incident Response Plan Online Round Table Discussion.  You will receive the videoconference link when you register. \nGideon’s Bio: \nWith nearly twenty years of experience in information security consulting\, Gideon Lenkey specializes in IT infrastructure testing and cybersecurity management. He has provided the FBI with advanced training and has served as a consultant for both foreign and domestic government agencies. The former president of FBI’s InfraGuard program in New Jersey\, Gideon has been recognized by former FBI Director Robert Mueller for his accomplishments. Gideon regularly lectures\, writes\, and grants interviews on cyber security topics. You can also find Gideon as a coauthor of the 2011 book “Gray Hat Hacking” and featured in the film documentary “Code 2600”. In addition to his position as President and Co-Founder of Ra Security\, Gideon works as the Director of Technology for Epsco-RA.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text] [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” source=”” text=”Monthly Dinner Meetings” font_container=”tag:h5|font_size:16|text_align:left|color:%23000000|line_height:32px” use_theme_fonts=”yes” google_fonts=”font_family:Abril%20Fatface%3Aregular|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css_animation=”” link=”” el_id=”” el_class=”” css=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_custom_heading text=”Register for this invitation only event using registration link below. For larger\, more complex projects over a million dollars the failure rate jumps to 95%. These failures cost US companies roughly $500 Billion each year and ruin both the reputations of IT departments and the career prospects of their leaders. Roughly 75% of these failures happen for one reason. It’s not the technology. It’s not the tech team. It’s because what the business is trying to do is never fully communicated; therefore\, it’s never fully understood. The problem isn’t the way people communicate. It’s the silent void that represents all the things people don’t say. This problem doesn’t start with us (IT)\, but we’re the ones who get blamed. \nDavid Burrill will lead a discussion on the origins of this silence and the implications for how we should be managing project communications\, interacting with our business counterparts\, and positioning ourselves for advancement. \nPlease review one of these resources by David Burrill to prepare for the discussion:\nWhitepaper Link:     https://bridgingbusinessit.com/get-your-copy/\nVideo Recording:     https://bridgingbusinessit.com/2021/09/09/the-silence-is-killing-us-presentation-to-iiba/\nPodcast Link:     https://www.buzzsprout.com/1835883 \nRegister for this candid discussion on Wed\, Nov 17 at 12:00pm.\nAttendance will be capped at 24 so register early \nAbout the Moderator:\nDave Burrill is a senior technology executive (President\, COO\, CIO)\, entrepreneur\, author\, speaker\, board director and advisor. He’s been a management team member of three successful tech companies taking each from co-founding or early stage\, through multiple financing rounds\, and rapid revenue growth to either IPO or acquisition. He’s a trusted advisor and C-Suite peer with the expertise to bridge disciplines from finance and operations to IT. He has over 35 years of technology project management experience leading teams that successfully completed or saved projects for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 50. \nBoth professionally and as a volunteer Dave has spent over a decade partnering with educators\, the National Alliance on Mental Illness and healthcare systems across the US to bring enabling technologies to behavioral and population health initiatives. He has collaborated with psychologists and clinicians to author over a dozen articles for various healthcare journals and has co-edited five books on the life lessons of patients and families dealing with mental illness. Influenced by these experiences he has returned to his first interest—information systems—to address the growing disparity between what neuroscience now knows and what business has yet to embrace. \nDave is a former PWC Consultant and CPA\, member of the PMI and Scrum Alliance®\, a PMP and CSM. He’s received awards for his work in SaaS\, advanced analytics and machine learning\, and has been selected to Who’s Who in American Executives & Professionals. He pursued his doctorate in Organization and Systems Design at the University of Southern California where he also earned his MBA He holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Psychology from the University of California\, Irvine \n  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Technology\, culture\, and now the pandemic have not only allowed the acceptance of remote work\, but it has also made it ubiquitous. Some paradigms die hard. Before the pandemic\, many organizations\, while having the technology to work remote\, lacked the culture. Hopefully soon\, we will have the ability to “Return to the Office” (RTO). Is this necessary? What does that look like? Is it a “blended” or “hybrid” approach to work? And with new found work flexibility\, has the concept of “work/life balance” also gone the way of the pre-Digital Era? In short\, what does RTO look like? \nAt our next roundtable\, Dr\, Frank Granito will lead a discussion on Return To Work that will inform his research project on the subject.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]About the Moderator:\nDr. Frank Granito is Chief Scientist and Lead Fellow at the Institute for Digital Transformation. Are IT leaders continuing what they started in 2020\, or are their plans changing as a result of the coronavirus resurgence? Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has been championed in many organizations for its potential to free employees to focus on higher value work and reduce enterprise costs. To some employees\, the implementation of RPA is seen as a threat in traditional white collar fields like accounting and law.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The next Princeton CIO Roundtable will give you the chance to talk openly and candidly with your peers about RPA: the challenges\, the risks\, the work underway\, and tactics/solutions you could use in your organizations. We’ll talk about how to select the right solutions and achieve the right blend for your company.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Our discussion will be led by one of our regular Princeton CIO Roundtable attendees\, Jim Eichmann. Until recently Jim was the Chief Technology Officer at Billtrust with over 25 years’ experience building highly scalable and robust systems. He is a driven IT business and technology executive who has led several organizations through major growth phases\, infrastructure initiatives and M&A integration. Jim has been involved with multiple successful startup companies where he led all aspects of the IT organization.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]The small print:[/vc_column_text] \n\nThis event is sponsored by CIO’s and SIM NJ IT executives as an opportunity to network and establish relationships with your peers.
