together around Breakthrough ideas.  She has worked with C-level leaders and teams from over 60 countries at Fortune 100 companies like GE\, Corning\, Citi\, AT&T\, Arm & Hammer on their innovation Unfortunately\, tools and processes dominate most related conferences and local user group meetings. During the hour\, David Moskowitz will discuss the need to take a whole systems view of DevOps that combines strategy and risk into a single entity — Strategy-Risk\, which serves as the basis to create and deliver digital business value. This idea represents a potentially different mindset with a corresponding cultural shift. \nJoin your peers to gain new perspectives\, share experiences\, and collaborate on real-life solutions to your most pressing problems. Come away with actionable insights and build a strong professional network as you engage with old friends and make new connections at our In Person meeting on April 14th at The Madison Hotel.  Networking starts at 5:30pm.  The presentation will also be hosted on Zoom starting at 6:30pm \n  \nAbout the Speaker\nDavid Moskowitz started his formal career as an operating systems programmer and systems architect\, which required that he look at the code he had written and how the resulting operating system might impact the business/research applications on the computer. Later\, while serving in the US Army\, he was tasked to apply that approach to looking at different forms of systems and complexity regarding where and how US Forces were engaged. This required working within the integration of the staff functions (personnel\, intelligence\, operations\, logistics\, and later civilian-military operations & planning). \nAfter his military service\, he continued to apply a systems approach to his job. In 1979\, he worked on an anti-submarine warfare program for a DoD prime contractor\, where he assumed responsibility for an aspect of the effort that was more than 18-months behind schedule and still slipping. Applying a whole systems approach\, he addressed the organizational and inter-personal cultural issues to create a high-performing team that completed the effort in 9-months. That required developing a more formalized approach to managing changes\, development\, testing\, release & deployment combined with short iterations and constant feedback that would be recognizable today as aspects of ITIL. Working with small increments of functionality and in short intervals\, the team used a wall full of corkboards\, 4×6 cards\, and thumbtacks so that\, at a glance\, everyone could review and understand the status of every aspect of the team’s efforts (similar to Kanban\, today). \nLater as a consultant\, he worked to assist organizations in adopting what they considered to be technical disruptions (including object-oriented programming\, grid\, agile\, mobile\, cloud\, and DevOps). He applied a critical lesson learned from experience: “Every problem he’d help resolve was\, at its core\, a people problem\, not a technology problem.” Technology was either an enabler or an inhibitor. The recurring mantra of these efforts was\, “Solve the problem; don’t treat the symptom.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_custom_heading text=”Agenda” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23005b94″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]5:30     Registration and Networking\n6:15     Dinner\n6:30     Zoom Meeting Starts\n6:45     Business Meeting\n7:00     Presentation and Q&A\n8:00     Networking[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_spacing=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_custom_heading text=”Cost” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23005b94″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Please register for the event below. \nSIM NJ Members $80.00\, MIT $40.00\, non-member guests $110.00. But realizing the benefits of anywhere operations is no easy feat.  IT Leaders must contend with a complex\, ever-changing infrastructure and fragmented\, legacy tools designed as point solutions.  Without an accurate\, real-time view of thousands of physical and virtual assets\, users\, and their interdependencies\, the risk of business disruption in fulfilling anywhere operations becomes a real issue. \nTo overcome these challenges and create a more agile\, digital-first operating model\, IT Leaders are turning to an emerging technology\, Digital Platform Conductors.  During this session Paul Deur of ReadyWorks will share examples of how leading organizations like Morgan Stanley\, AMEX GBT\, and Tradeweb are leveraging this new technology for anywhere operations. \nThis meeting will be hosted both In Person at the Madison Hotel\, and Virtually on Zoom. \nAbout our Speaker\nPaul Deur is a lifelong entrepreneur and co-founder and Co-CEO of ReadyWorks\, a SaaS organization whose mission is to lower the risk and cost of IT infrastructure transformation. With over 20 years of experience in IT services\, delivery\, enablement and operations focused on large enterprise. Paul has a successful track record with global organizations such as Pfizer\, Microsoft\, Symantec\, Unisys\, American Express\, Regeneron\, and SMBC\, amongst others. Too often\, IT leaders must make decisions with insufficient information and without knowing the true effect on the business. This keynote will help you navigate a world in which only 29% of Business Leaders are satisfied with the performance of IT. \nThe Moneyball CIO is a keynote presentation that explores how CIOs can use data to increase satisfaction from their stakeholders and customers. This presentation was inspired by the movie Moneyball\, where baseball leaders used data to transform the sport. Based on tens of thousands of data points\, Info-Tech’s research will walk you through the science behind increasing satisfaction from your stakeholders. \nThree CIOs with very different priorities will go head to head…. But paper and complex legal agreements are cumbersome\, difficult to transfer and can be hard to track. One solution would be to switch to a digital system along the lines of Bitcoin but linked to an asset. The process of converting the rights to the asset into a digital token on a blockchain is called Tokenization. \nAt our October meeting\, James Canterbury of EY’s Advisory Practice will discuss his experiences with Blockchain Tokenization. It will be an interesting discussion on how to gain the advantages of blockchain while keeping the characteristics of the asset.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”About the Speaker” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23005b94″ use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]James Canterbury is a Principal working with EY’s Advisory practice where he is part of the global blockchain team\, and a leader within Risk Advisory focused on Life Sciences regulatory quality and compliance. He helps his clients understand new technologies and how they might be applied to solve real-world problems. Specifically for blockchain he works to educate clients on the new technology and designs solutions to capitalize on the benefits of a blockchain network when designing efficient\, transparent\, and trusted solutions. He has 14 years of experience helping biopharma companies find innovative answers to the challenges created by operating in a highly regulated industry. Before blockchain he primarily managed projects that span from interpreting FDA regulations to privacy & security to financial controls James holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
