As I start the new year in a new role, I reflect on what has kept me involved in SIM NJ for all these years. Overall, it is the opportunity to engage with colleagues, to learn about various technologies and leadership from both thought leaders and my fellow members. Over the years, through the easy times, and especially the challenging times, it has been the interactions with you that have given me the advice and possibilities to move forward.
SIM has taught me that I do not have all the answers, but amongst my fellow SIM colleagues there is someone who does have the answer. It is the opportunity to interact with members that I have cherished all these years and why I have contributed time to the Board. This thought will also inform my tenure as SIM NJ President.
As we continue our planning for the coming year, the Executive Committee and I will be concentrating on three areas: Programs to increase interaction between members, Growing the membership, and Partnerships to increase thought leadership. We will be announcing new partnerships and program offerings in the coming months within these emails, so watch out for these messages.
In closing, I would like to thank Val Thomas, Past President, for his tireless work last year as we came out of the pandemic. His leadership, and the work of the Executive Committee, set the groundwork for the growth of the chapter.
I would also like to thank the new Executive Committee for their commitment to SIM NJ in the coming year.
As always if you have any suggestions for programs, partnerships, or wish to help, please reach out to me or any Executive Committee member.
I hope to see you at the SIM NJ Summer BBQ on Aug 10th. Click here for more information and to register at https://njsim.org/event/annual-summer-bbq-2023/
