SIMNJ Roundtable Discussion – Edge and IoT

Edge computing is a distributed computing architecture that brings compute and data storage closer to the sources of data.  Those real time data sources are often sensors or users.  IoT is a use case of Edge that we see in our personal and professional lives – refrigerators, doorbells, fleet management, etc.

This session will touch on how businesses are using Edge architecture to improve their business outcomes in a world that’s dominated by mobile apps, vehicle data collection, etc.

About the Moderator

As the Director of Solutions at Presidio, Mike Burke leads a diverse team of pre-sales architects responsible for creating solutions for Presidio’s customers across technology verticals, including networking, wireless, security, virtualization, cloud, backup & disaster recovery, unified communications, collaboration, and voice services.

Mike has over 20 years’ experience in architecting, deploying, and migrating customers datacenters to both on premises datacenters and to the cloud.  Likewise, Mike has decades of experience in architecting successful VDI and application management solutions, and helping customers successfully adopt those solutions.

Mike oversees the process of building complex solutions for Presidio customers provide leadership and escalation to the team and Solution Architects, helping drive customers’ initiatives to successful solutions.
