On 3/9/2023, we were delighted by the dynamism of Whynde Kuehn, at an event sponsored by Mitchell Martin. Whynde explained the discipline of Business Architecture, which provides one shared mental model of an organization and its ecosystem, unified across business units and products. It is also entirely business-focused and business-owned. The Business Architect bridges Strategy and Execution, by clarifying goals and strategy, assessing impacts, architecting the change, and identifying/mitigating any gaps. By implementing Business Architecture, a company helps avoid common Strategy Execution challenges. These include: competing or misaligned strategies; strategies that get “lost in translation”; translating, designing, and planning IN SILOS, leading to inconsistent, fragmented, redundant solutions and poor customer, partner, and employee experiences; dealing with a scenario where “everything is a priority”.
